The UChicago News Office and Web Services have launched a redesigned news website as well as new features for the University homepage, with more visually dynamic content and an immersive and mobile-friendly experience for readers.
The new site features a cleaner visual design with more prominent photography and multimedia, and faster loading times. Story pages allow for more content-rich storytelling, with larger display of photos and videos and greater integration with social media channels. The news site’s main homepage highlights UChicago news stories by topic, external media coverage, faculty experts and featured multimedia.
The design is optimized for mobile devices, helping readers browse easily and quickly on any device. Other changes include a webcast page, with links to upcoming and archived videos, and an events feed highlighting current activities around campus. The site was developed by UChicago Web Services, in collaboration with the UChicago News Office and UChicago Creative.
The University homepage also has a refreshed design to highlight the latest content and make mobile browsing more user-friendly. The new scrollable format features more active space for multimedia, upcoming events and trending items on social media.
Anyone having problems browsing the News site should use the online feedback form or email news@uchicago.edu.
