The University of Chicago will host two election night watch parties on Tuesday, Nov. 6, allowing students to come together and stay informed on election results as they come in.
Election events will take place in the School of Social Service Administration and the Reynolds Club. SSA will hold its event in the building lobby from 8 p.m. until midnight, with a large screen showing election night programming. The Reynolds Club event will feature a large neutral viewing area in Hutchinson Commons, with additional gathering spaces for viewers supporting specific candidates. The Reynolds Club event will start at 6 p.m. and will end at a time to be determined, based partly on student interest. Both venues will offer food and refreshments beginning at 8 p.m.
Students can share their reactions throughout election night on Twitter with hashtags #Informed2012 and #uchicago. The election night events are sponsored by the University of Chicago Institute of Politics, the Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities, University Communications, and the Office of Campus and Student Life.
