The Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism at the University of Chicago has launched a website devoted to reflections and strategies from policymakers and academics on the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.
The site offers original contributions on the Middle East, Islam, homeland security, U.S. military policies and terrorism-fighting strategies such as “Off Shore Balancing.” The website emphasizes new perspectives, in addition to archival material.
The CPOST Perspectives are drawn from a variety of positions and notable figures, including Robert Pape, professor in political science at UChicago, Richard N. Haass (president of The Council on Foreign Relations), Kori Schake (Hoover Institute), Christopher Preble (CATO Institute), John Esposito (Georgetown University), Rami Khouri (American University of Beirut) and Thomas Schelling (University of Maryland).
Other perspectives are drawn from Admiral Gary Roughead and The Hon. Thomas Kean, of the 9/11 Commission.
In addition to perspectives written especially for the site, it is a comprehensive resource for media, policymakers and academics. CPOST has collected many videos, op-eds and other resources regarding 9/11 including:

- Video of Bill Clinton’s Yale address
- Video of news conferences from Rudy Guiliani, Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld following the attacks
- Video from Osama bin Laden

“The 9/11 anniversary is an important time to re-think the course of U.S. national security policy,” says Pape who directs CPOST, “and these wide-ranging, thoughtful perspectives are an excellent beginning.”
The CPOST 9/11 coverage will be available throughout the month of September, after which it will be archived on the CPOST website.
