University celebrates career of Harold Richman, founder of Chapin Hall

Colleagues and friends of HaroldRichman, founding directorof Chapin Hall and the Hermon Dunlap Smith ProfessorEmeritus at SSA, gathered to celebrate his manycontributions to the field of child welfare policy research.President Robert Zimmer led the tributes that marked thenaming of the main conference room of the historic ChapinHall building south of the Midway in Mr. Richman's honor.Matthew Stagner, executive director of Chapin Hall, and oneof Mr. Richman's former students, also announced thecreation of the Harold A. Richman Postdoctoral Fellowship.Among the speakers at the event was University TrusteeGeorge A. Ranney, Jr.
