Larry Hill, Associate Vice President for Program Development and National Laboratories, has appointed Tracey Quinn Assistant Vice President for National Laboratories.

In her capacity in the Office of the Vice President for Research and for National Laboratories, Quinn will serve as Secretary to the UChicago Argonne, LLC Board of Governors and the Fermi Research Alliance, LLC Board of Directors, and have executive management responsibility for all board support and programmatic and operational review functions for both boards.

"Tracey brings a highly developed set of operational skills and significant energy to her new role," said Hill, "and her deep corporate experience will assist both boards with enhancing the stature of the labs regionally and nationally. I am very pleased with Tracey's appointment and look forward to working closely with her in furthering the goals and interests of the office, the labs and the lab boards."

Quinn comes to the University from Abbott Laboratories, where she has served since 2008 as a business development strategist, securing new business opportunities. Prior to that, she worked for 10 years at the Boeing Company in a series of increasingly responsible positions, including serving as director of Company Administration in which she staffed the company's board of directors and executive council.

She then served as director of shared services for Boeing's World Headquarters and Boeing International before being named senior director of international services and business support.In this position, Quinn reported to both unit presidents and supervised a team of 125 personnel in more than 25 international offices.

Quinn received a BA in Psychology and English from Vassar (with honors), a JD from the University of Southern California Law Center, and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. She is a member of the State Bar of California. Prior to joining Boeing, she practiced general civil litigation in California, with an emphasis on state and federal employment law.

Quinn will begin her new position Monday, Feb. 8.
