Event with U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren revised due to Senate vote

The scheduled Sept. 27 UChicago event with U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has been revised to accommodate a pending vote in Washington, D.C. Warren will appear via videoconference to address the latest on the spending bill, the work of the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, and other topics. She will also hold a brief discussion with Institute Director David Axelrod.

The location for the event will remain the Logan Center Performance Hall, and it will begin as scheduled at 10:00 a.m. CST. After the videoconference, Axelrod and Steve Edwards, the Institute’s deputy director of programming, will talk with UChicago students about the vote in Washington and other current events, as well as the work and mission of the Institute of Politics.

Warren stayed in Washington, D.C., in order to cast her Senate vote on a spending bill that came up for consideration Friday, and was unable to make the trip to Chicago as planned.
