The University of Chicago will present a forum on health care and education in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Sept. 10, with keynote speeches by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
President Robert J. Zimmer will host the event called "Chicago Contributes," which will include panel discussions with scholars from the University and other institutions. The event, to be held at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., will be broadcast live via the University Web site at www.uchicago.edu.
Coming at a time of important policy debates, the forum will consider the roles that government and universities can play in expanding access to health care and improving student performance in public schools. Advance registration is required for those who wish to attend the event.
