Samuel L. Volchenboum, MD, PhD, MS, is an expert in pediatric cancers and blood disorders, especially neuroblastoma. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Volchenboum studies ways to harness computers to enable research and foster innovation using large data sets.
His research group Data for the Common Good (D4CG) is dedicated to building communities, platforms, and ecosystems that maximize the potential of data to drive discovery and improve human health. D4CG’s flagship project, the Pediatric Cancer Data Commons, is dedicated to liberating and democratizing international data for pediatric malignancies.
