Eugene Chang

Eugene B. Chang studies intestinal and digestive disorders, with a particular interest in microbial interactions with the host. These studies are also aimed at better understanding how perturbations or types of enteric flora contribute to the development of digestive diseases, especially inflammatory bowel diseases. He is also investigating the acute and chronic effects of immune and inflammatory mediators on epithelial barrier and transport functions.

He has studied probiotic organisms and mechanisms, including several currently being developed as therapies.
