Aashish Clerk

Aashish Clerk is a theorist studying quantum phenomena occurring in man-made quantum systems. His work has implications for quantum sensors and communication, computers, and optics. He was recently part of a team that reported what may be the largest objects to be linked with quantum entanglement. The research done is at the intersection of condensed matter physics, quantum optics and quantum information. The work is closely done with a number of leading experimental groups around the world.

He has received several honors, including a Sloan Research Fellowship, an E.W.R. Steacie Memorial Fellowship from Canada’s National Science and Engineering Research Council, the Rutherford Memorial Medal in Physics from the Royal Society of Canada, and a Simons Foundation Fellowship in Theoretical Physics.
