Jiwoong Park is an expert in the emerging field of two-dimensional layered materials. These materials, only a few atoms thick, have potential in the development of novel electrical, optical, biological, and mechanical devices, including flexible electronics and energy conversion. His research holds great promise for the development of atomic-scale devices, such as two-dimensional semiconductors and nanotransistors.
The Park Lab research focuses on the science and technology of nanomaterials. Prof. Park and his team are conducting research on the synthesis, assembly and characterization of nanoscale materials and devices using a variety of advanced tools. Their research is multidisciplinary and includes researchers with diverse backgrounds, including chemistry, physics, material science and electrical engineering.
Prof. Park has received the NSF CAREER award, the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, and the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship.
