Jack Szostak

A Nobel Laureate, Prof. Szostak’s field is the origin of life. His lab is trying to recapitulate the steps that led to the self-assembly of the first living cells (often referred to as protocells); in other words they are interested in how the chemistry of the early Earth gave rise to the beginnings of biology.
