Jonathan I. Levy is an acclaimed historian and scholar of modern economic life and social thought, with his research and teaching spanning the 19th and 20th centuries, he is increasingly preoccupied with global and comparative questions. Prof. Levy’s field of expertise is the economic life in the United States, with interests in the relationships between business and economic history, political economy, legal history, and the history of ideas.
In 2012, he published the award-winning book, Freaks of Fortune: The Emerging World of Capitalism and Risk in America (2012) and is currently completing an economic history of the United States, Ages of American Capitalism.
