John Anderson

John Anderson's research centers on the chemistry of the transition metals, with a particular focus on how these elements play important roles in catalysis for renewable energy, biology, and fine chemical synthesis as well as in materials science. John is particularly interested in understanding how the electronic structure and bonding in transition metal complexes materials mediates their reactivity and magnetic or electronic properties.

Anderson's research has been recognized by several awards including an NSF Career Award in 2017, a 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award in 2018, a Sloan Research Fellowship in 2019, and an Army Research Office Young Investigator Award in 2020.
