"Zirconia nanoparticle parrot" by Jia-Ahn Pan. Submitted caption: "Colloidal zirconia nanoparticles were directly patterned with light to form micron-sized pixels of different thicknesses. The variation in thickness leads to different colors due to thin-film interference effects. These colored pixels were arranged in a way to build up an image of a parrot."
