The 100-ton-capacity crane allowed massive pieces of experiments to be easily moved. Above, scientists work on the Cosmic Ray Electron Synchrotron Telescope (CREST), a NASA-sponsored instrument that was constructed in the high bay before being flown aboard a balloon in Antarctica to capture readings of cosmic rays.
