Bana Jabri

Bana Jabri's is a pediatric gastroenterologist and an expert in innate and mucosal immunity. She has followed a career interest in celiac disease, autoimmune disorders and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Jabri has extensive experience in human immunology, especially in designing and performing studies on human intestinal tissue samples. Her research uses a range of molecular and cellular approaches to study immune function in the intestine. These studies address basic immunological questions and may lead to insights into autoimmune disorders and inflammatory intestinal diseases.

She has coauthored numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications on celiac disease and other digestive disorders, and has been published twice in Nature. She is the 2009 recipient of the William K. Warren, Jr. Prize for Excellence in Celiac Disease Research.
