Summary

America and its Allies are more active today ensuring our common values of democracy, security and humanity than at any time since NATO's foundation in 1949. To recognize this extraordinary, shared burden, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visited four American cities in May 2011 to engage the American public about its critically important role in the translatlantic relationship.
