In association with her exhibition Photographs Get Moving (potatoes and shells, too), Agnès Varda reflected on various stages of her long and rich artistic career as a photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist. Sometimes called the “grandmother of the French New Wave,” Varda has created more than 40 short, documentary, and fiction films for both TV and cinema, and staged many exhibitions of photographs and installation pieces. Her talk was followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Dominique Bluher, lecturer and director of M.A. Studies in the Department of Cinema and Media Studies and the College.
