Lauded as a progressive leader by the activist base of the Democratic Party, outgoing Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley is increasingly mentioned as a potential presidential candidate. Among other accomplishments O'Malley helped lead the push for his state’s “Dream Act” that gave undocumented college students in-state tuition, and led Maryland to be one of the first states to recognize same sex marriages.
