David Nirenberg

David Nirenberg is dean of the Divinity School and Deborah R. and Edgar D. Jannotta Distinguished Service Professor of Medieval History and Social Thought. His work focuses on the ways in which Jewish, Christian and Islamic cultures interrelate with and think about each other and is the author of several books that examine how Judaism, Christianity and Islam interact. Dean Nirenberg’s books range across literary, artistic, historiographic and philosophical genres.

He has written extensively on other subjects ranging from love to set theory and serves on many editorial boards and advisory panels. He has been a regular contributor to publications such as The NationThe New Republic and the London Review of Books.
