The University of Chicago will unveil plans for a major new student residence hall and dining commons on Tuesday, July 23, in an event that will be webcast live to the UChicago community.

The announcement webcast will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. It will provide a chance for the UChicago community to hear from the new facility's architect, chosen after an international search. The architect and University leaders will reveal and discuss conceptual designs for a signature undergraduate residence hall and dining commons, designed to support the College's distinctive House System. They also will explain how the plans will help develop the north part of campus and engage with the neighborhood beyond.

John W. Boyer, dean of the College, and Karen Warren Coleman, Vice President for Campus Life and Student Services, will host the announcement. Viewers can tune into the event at UChicago LiveRSVP for the webcast on Facebook, and follow the conversation at #uchidesign.
