Biography

Richard Neer is the author of Style and Politics in Athenian Vase-Painting: The Craft of Democracy, ca. 530-460 B.C.E. and articles on Athenian pottery, theories of style, Archaic Greek sculpture, and 17th century French painting. His interests include the development of naturalism in Greek art; Athenian history and questions of representation; architectural sculpture at Delphi and Olympia; and philosophical aesthetics.
