Summary
On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, the Chicago Humanities Forum presented a conversation between Stanley Tigerman and W.J.T. Mitchell entitled “Architectural Displacement.” Stanley Tigerman is an American Institute of Architects Fellow and Principal of Tigerman McCurry Architects. Tigerman remains the “architectural voice and conscience” of Chicago as he fights to save historic buildings and works to achieve affordable housing. His book, Designing Bridges to Burn, will be released this November. Professor W.J.T. Mitchell’s many academic titles reflect his wide-ranging intellectual interests: he is the Gaylord Donnelley distinguished service professor in English Language & Literature, Art History, Visual Arts, and the College—as well as the editor of Critical Inquiry.
