'Local Metrics: Majeed, Mooses, Myrie' opening reception
A opening reception held June 29 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts featured new works by local artists-in-residence in UChicago's Arts & Public Life initiative and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics & Culture.
Local Metrics: Majeed, Mooses, Myrie, on view through Aug. 5 at the Logan Center Gallery, is the culmination of Faheem Majeed, Cathy Alva Mooses and Eliza Myrie — residents of South Shore, Pilsen and Rogers Park respectively. Each artist has developed their disctinct arts practices and perspectives over the last year as artists-in-residents, working with faculty staff and students at UChicago.
The Renaissance Society's Hamza Walker, who helped organize the show, will join the artists and Theaster Gates, Arts & Public Life director, in a 7 p.m. gallery talk on July 17 at the Logan Center Gallery.
