Additional H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine clinics
December 8, 2009
To: Faculty, faculty emeriti, other academic personnel, students, and staff
From: Steve Beaudoin, Director of Environmental Health and Safety and Radiation Safety
As supplies continue to increase, we will offer H1N1 (swine) flu vaccine for all members of the University community at two clinics this week.
We invite all students, faculty, faculty emeriti, other academic personnel, and staff to vaccination clinics in Ida Noyes Hall, at the Max Palevsky Cinema, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Please bring University identification.
In order to reduce waiting times, we have increased staff at this week’s clinics. Also, we will offer only the inactivated H1N1 vaccine injections. No intranasal live attenuated H1N1 vaccine or seasonal flu vaccine will be available at these clinics.
Because demand remains strong, we suggest you prepare for the possibility that you may have to wait to receive the vaccine. Most of the time you are waiting, you will be seated in the cinema, so feel free to bring reading or work. We continue to work to make as much vaccine available as soon as possible — we appreciate your patience and goodwill in this process.
We will continue to inform you on a regular basis about the best opportunities to be vaccinated. We urge everybody to continue to take common precautions to stay healthy, and particularly urge you to isolate yourself if you have flu symptoms.
