Classes proceed; caution advised in cold and windy weather

Classes at the University of Chicago will proceed as scheduled Monday, Jan. 27, but students, faculty and staff are urged to use caution in what are forecast to be extremely cold and windy conditions.

Exposed skin should be covered when walking out of doors, and extra layers are recommended. Temperatures are expected to drop during the day Monday, with the extreme cold continuing into Tuesday. For more information and weather advisories, please see http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lot/.

The Laboratory Schools also will be open Monday. Individual events or activities may be affected by the weather, however, so all are urged to check with the appropriate offices, faculty or supervisors with questions about particular functions at the University or the Laboratory Schools.
