Media advisory: Election watching at the University of Chicago

After a presidential campaign that has put a spotlight on the University of Chicago, members of the campus community will gather at numerous events Tuesday, Nov. 4, to watch election returns and support their candidates. Events include:

  • Members of the campus community will gather at the Reynolds Club, 5706 S. UniversityAve., to watch returns from 9 a.m. until after the concession and acceptance speeches. A partysponsored by student organizations, including campus Republicans and Democrats, will begin at7 p.m., and will include games and other activities.
  • The Law Students Association will host an election party in the Law School's GreenLounge, 1111 E. 60th St., from 4 to 9 p.m.
  • John Mark Hansen, Dean of Social Sciences and Professor of Political Science, will analyze results with students in his "Electoral Politics in America" course in the Regenstein Library, 1100 E. 57th St.
